Pray for Me Today!

Right now, I am on my way, with my mother, my son Caden and my niece, to Florida. I decided to help my mom pack up my grandpa's Florida home and put it on the market for sale. He is now in a nursing home, and we have to get this house ready ASAP to sell quickly.

Please pray that we have safe travel, and that we accomplish all that we need to during this week. Our travel time from Northern Indiana to Ft. Myer, Florida is about 20-21 hours. We will be resting at night and driving during the day.

Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers today. I will try to keep you updated and posting throughout the week still. Because hopefully we will be getting to enjoy ourselves a little this week!

Talk to you all soon!

Taking Some Time

As some of you know, my hubby went in for knee surgery yesterday. Things went well (Praise God!), and hubby is now home. We got home late last night. Please pray for my hubby, and his recovery. We got up several times last night, and the pain is quite a bit sometimes! But, he seems like he's in good spirits, and we are of course praising God for being so good!

Thank you for all of your prayers, and I will try to continue on with regular blogging as attention allows me to! (Hopefully later today!)

Have a blessed day! =)

Prayer- In His Word Wednesday

Prayers have been on my heart alot lately. There is just so much to prayer for. Sickness. Need. Jobs. Patience. There seems to be many people that are getting cancer, that I know. And we may not understand the illness or the situation, but I know the one thing I CAN do is pray.

Psalm 28:2 "Hear my prayer for mercy when I call to you for help, when I lift my hands toward your most holy place."

Psa 102:1-17 " A prayer by someone who is suffering, when he is weary and pours out his troubles in the LORD'S presence. O LORD, hear my prayer, and let my cry for help come to you. Do not hide your face from me when I am in trouble. Turn your ear toward me. Answer me quickly when I call. My days disappear like smoke. My bones burn like hot coals. My heart is beaten down and withered like grass because I have forgotten about eating. I am nothing but skin and bones because of my loud groans. I am like a desert owl, like an owl living in the ruins. I lie awake. I am like a lonely bird on a rooftop. All day long my enemies insult me. Those who ridicule me use my name as a curse. I eat ashes like bread and my tears are mixed with my drink because of your hostility and anger, because you have picked me up and thrown me away. My days are like a shadow that is getting longer, and I wither away like grass.

But you, O LORD, remain forever. You are remembered throughout every generation. You will rise and have compassion on Zion, because it is time to grant a favor to it. Indeed, the appointed time has come. Your servants value Zion's stones, and they pity its rubble. The nations will fear the LORD'S name. All the kings of the earth will fear your glory. When the LORD builds Zion, he will appear in his glory. He will turn his attention to the prayers of those who have been abandoned. He will not despise their prayers."

God hears all prayers, and in His timing He will answer them. We need to remember to lift those people up in prayer in our lives that need it.

Yesterday, I got a monthly calendar book at 75% off. I got it because I had read about another woman who took a similar calendar and kept track pf all of the prayer requests. She also kept track of prayer she wanted to make sure were made on that day, like each day she prayed for a different child. I have also added our pastor, and his wife to pray for during my week. I have added our Women's Ministry, and of course I remember my husband in prayer. ( I don't remember as much anymore, unless I write it down!)

This week some of my special prayers are these precious people:
  • Lila, this older lady from our church loves the Lord with all of her heart. She had back surgery on Monday, and is doing well, but needs our prayers
  • A couple named Max & Becky. Max was recently diagnosed with having a tumor on his brain and given a year to live. He has been taking care of his wife Becky, who has also been hospitalized, because of her health. They also take care of a 13 year old grand-daughter, that needs our prayers.
  • A couple name Bob & Carol, from our church, are going to go see their daughter in Colorado, who is a single mom and has been having seizures. They are hoping to bring her back to the Lord during their visit.
  • My aunt Deb, who has Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She will never get rid of the cancer, but she can help slow it considerably. Pray that the cancer slows to a stop. She is in her early 50's and she has 2 boys, and a husband.

Thank you for all of the prayers that you lift up for these precious people. Thanks again Megan, for being obedient to God's calling for you to have this on your blog! Go HERE to see more encouragement and prayers.

Baking Day & a Prayer Request!

I had done this before Thanksgiving (I think!), but I have been wanting to get started on this again. Baking Day!

I was first inspired by MoneySavingMom, when she had blogged about having a baking day months ago. I did my own baking day, and definitely was rewarded with easier items to go with my meals.

Well, now she is blogging about another baking day, and that was all the motivation I needed, to do something I have been wanting to do for a week or more now.

So far, I plan to make homemade white bread, waffles, maybe yogurt, maybe some rice (I have read that you can make rice, regular nor instant, ahead of time and freeze it for a quick side dish or addition to a dish), and we will see if I can figure anything else out!

So, come back tomorrow, and I will be having a Baking Day!

A side note: if you all could pray for my 2 youngest, Caden and Koen, I took them to the doctor today and found out that the colds that they just got last week has caused them to get an ear infection. So pray for them to have fast healing! My baby, Koen, is very sad and he doesn't understand why he is hurting! BTW- did you know that Meijer give free amoxocillin out to kids? I thought that was so awesome! Thank you for your prayers!

Update on my Dad

Psa 57:1 To the Chief Musician. Do not destroy. A secret treasure of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me; for my soul trusts in You; yea, in the shadow of Your wings I will make my hiding-place, until these great troubles pass by.

God really is good, all the time.

My dad had his worst day yet yesterday. But he also had his best day. The day started out horribly. He just hasn't been able to eat since like early Sunday. So he was getting weaker and weaker. I kept questioning why he didn't have an IV... He also had something in his throat, and he couldn't sleep, couldn't breathe well. One of my pastors went and visited with my parents yesterday, and after he left my dad had to go to one of his tests. He started to get up, and got sick. The nurse that was there determined from this, that he has a bleeding ulcer.

Finally, an answer. A point in the right direction. And my dad actually felt really good after that, and was able to get some good sleep when he got back from his test. I talked to him last night and he sounded SO much better.

Thank you to all of you who have been praying for my dad. It means so much that you have been lifting him up in prayer! And prayers are being answered.

Thank you God, for watching over my dad. Thank you for making yesterday a day that brought some answers. Thank You for being so faithful to those who love You, and giving us what we don't deserve. Please continue to be with my dad, and speaking to him in a way that only You can. Being his Comfort, and his Rock. Providing true shelter. Thank you God! All praises and honor and glory be to you FOREVER!~ Amen

Prayers Needed

Hey! I usually have posted some stuff by now BUT, last night my dad (52 years old) was taken to the hospital. They thought he had a heart attack. About a year and a half ago he had several mini-strokes. And I was pretty upset, not knowing what was going on!

Well, today, they still have no answers. They were running tests and they think it may not have been a Heart Attack, but they can't rule it out until the Cardiologist comes in to see him tomorrow.

So, if you could, please pray for him. Hi name is David. He is NOT feeling well, and can't eat. So he is getting very weak. He is a believer, but just needs to know people are praying for him! Thank you so much. I will keep you all informed, and try to get back to normal as soon as possible!

Prayers Needed!

I just wanted to write a quick note tonight to ask you all to pray for me and my husband.

Pray that we stay steadfast in what the Lord is telling us. We left a church 2 years ago, because of some teaching that the Lord kept telling us was wrong. And now there are people from the old church trying to tell us that we need to be doing certain things, things that the Lord, time and time again had told us were wrong.

The Lord has been so good, and so gentle with us. And He has given us so much knowledge in the past few years, and I am more confident in God's work now than I ever have been. I am proud to be part of a church now that is teaching His word. And teaching His forgiveness. I am SO excited to see Him continue to move in our lives and at our church. It's beyond comprehension how He can love us so much.

But we need your prayers. I do not want to get into too much information, because there is no need. Besides, I know some of those people read this blog from time to time, and I don't want this to be a ground to discuss the issues. I just want the Lord to intervene on this situation and His will be done.

Thank you so much!
