Question

The Lord calls us do do certain things as a woman. And to be joyful in doing them. I know how difficult it is to be joyful when I am cleaning the toilets (I have 3 little boys and 1 big one, yeah.). It is hard to be joyful when I wash clothes that were never worn... (grrrrr...). There are things that are hard to find the joy in!

But the Lord calls us to...

Col 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people.

I am going to post this question, and leave it for you all to answer for the weekend.

Well, it's kind of a 2 part-er.

I want to know what is the one thing you dislike the most in your housework...

And then, if you would like, tell us one piece of advise that has helped you the most in your housework.

We WANT to be joyful in all things, so let's find out how we can, together!

With out a doubt...DUSTING. It just seems so pointless espically when our pellet stove is on.

One thing that has helped me is to do housework with my kids. It just seems a tiny bit more fun when we're all doing it together.

I also read somewhere that when you're folding the dreaded whites load of laundry to pray for whoevers socks or clothes you are folding. I need to do a better job of this too. Maybe I should put a sticky note above my dryer as a reminder.

This is hard, too many to choose from! I have a rainbow sweeper and sometimes it seems to big a pain to have to get all the parts out and fill it w/ water. Plus Titus is in that scared of it mode so it makes it that much harder to do, but I do hate a dirty floor!

I just started motivated moms and I really like it cuase it has a list of things to do each day. That's helped and also to think of stewardship. I try to teach my kids to take care of things, if I'm not taking care of things I'm not setting a very good example. So I try to remember that God has given me everything and I need to treat it as such.

I can't really pinpoint what part of the housework I like the least(all of it?:)), but I can tell you that if we do it in a very thankful attitude then it goes a whole lot better. For example, doing the dishes is a DAILY chore, I don't like a big pile to wash, rinse, etc. But, if I remember that I have these dishes to do because I have a wonderful family present with me, it puts it in a whole new perspective.
