Harvest

Right now, we are putting things away for winter. We had a small garden this year, basically just enough to eat. But we have potatoes, still in the ground, that should save us some money this fall/winter.

We also have grapes! The grapes were here, when we moved to this house 2 years ago. We haven't done anything with them, until this year. I mean there isn't a lot. Especially after the chickens have got anything within 2 foot of the ground. But my parents have vines (and no chickens!), so we are going there to pick some more. As of today we have 3 1/2 jars of Grape Jelly.

I know it sounds like we maybe shouldn't have even bothered! But God's provision IS ENOUGH! Any little bit helps in our budget! At $3.+ for grape jelly in the store... we just saved over $9!

As women, as managers of our households, we need to be good stewards of our money also. So in Harvest or otherwise, we can reap what we have sown. Both literally and spiritually.

We need to be thankful in ANYTHING God does for us. Singing praises ALWAYS. All things he allows in our lives and under His control. So good or bad, we should be thankful. It is difficult at the time of heartache or sadness, but in the end God knows where it will all lead.

In weeks to come I will discuss how the woman can learn to be an even better steward of the family finances.

Psa 67:6 The land has produced its harvest; God, our God, has blessed us.
