Simply Believing

This last week, in our Women's Ministry at church, we started the Beth Moore series, Living Beyond Yourself. As I was sitting last night and studying, there were so many things that I reread that I have read before, but I realized (again) how SIMPLE our relationship with God is.

Thanks to Jesus and our sin being nailed to the cross, our relationship is not complicated. We don't have to jump through hoops for Him. In Galatians 3:6, Abraham first just believed God. God told him how He was going to make Abraham a great nation. Did God have to prove it to Abraham? No. Abraham simply believed. Did Abraham have to prove it to God, that he was worthy, that he would do this and that, if God would make him a great nation? No. God knew Abraham's faith was great! Did Abraham want to argue with God because he was very old? He did not. He simply believed!

Sometimes, so many try to make it more then that. Yes, when we believe, we want to do things to glorify God. Because we want our treasure in heaven to be great! But, even the out pouring of our hearts doesn't have to be technical. God doesn't require a laundry list of things to be done to attain heaven! Jesus has done it all!

In the study we are doing, Beth Moore posts out a verse that I have seen a few times in my life. 2 Corinthians 11:3-4. " However, I'm afraid that as the snake deceived Eve by its tricks, so your minds may somehow be lured away from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. When someone comes to you telling about another Jesus whom we didn't tell you about, you're willing to put up with it. When you receive a spirit that is different from the Spirit you received earlier, you're also willing to put up with that. When someone tells you good news that is different from the Good News you already accepted, you're willing to put up with that too."

Do we question "now what?" when it comes to our faith? Do we think "there has to be more?"??? Do we listen to people who are preaching a different Jesus, and follow that because we think that it seems 'proactive', and God and others will see your faithfulness?

What about prayer, in the quietness or our rooms? What about the one-on-one relationship between you and God? Believing God, talking to Him, praying to Him... that is the foundation! Everything else will come from our true, pure, close relationship with God! Yes, it is so much easier to have a list of do's and don'ts sometimes, but can't we let the Holy Spirit direct our path?

Our time here on earth is short, make your lives a reflection of Jesus. Live for Him everyday, every hour, every second! Love Him, believe in Him, marvel at Him, talk to Him, talk about Him, praise Him! It's THAT simple! Jesus loves you! No matter what! Are we devoting our lives, simply to Him?

God- Thank you so much for sending Jesus to die for our sins! I cannot fathom that someone loved me enough to die for me! But, when you say You love me, I believe it. When You say, you are there for me, I believe it. When You say You will protect me, forgive me, take care of me, I believe it! May the outpouring of my belief, shine a light for You, so that others can see how beautiful You are! Let us not make this relationship a technical one! Let us not try to skip over the fact that Jesus's blood washed us white as snow! I love you~ Amen

It is such a comfort to know how great our God is, and how much he loves us. I know I fail him on a regular basis, but I also know I'm forgiven.
